Screen on the Green posterThe inflatable robot Baymax will be appearing on an inflatable movie screen in Burry Park next Saturday, July 25, when “Big Hero 6,” the 2014 Walt Disney Pictures animated superhero adventure, is shown for the City of Hartsville’s Screen on the Green free summer movie series. The event is sponsored by The Children’s Group and will begin at dusk, 8:40 p.m. or later. Burry Park is located in downtown Hartsville at 131 Cargill Way.

“Big Hero 6” shows the story of the friendship between Baymax (Scott Adsit) and teenage robotics expert Hiro Hamanda (Ryan Potter). After their futuristic home of San Fransokyo comes under attack by robots, Hiro must form a high-tech superhero team with his friends: athlete Go Go Tomago (Jamie Chung) the cautious Wasabi (Damon Wayans Jr.) chemist Honey Lemon (Genesis Rodriguez) and comic book fan Fred (T.J. Miller). The movie is rated PG for action and peril, some rude humor, and thematic elements.

Moviegoers are invited to bring chairs and blankets to Burry Park. In the event of rain, the showing will relocate to Byerly Park’s Coach T.B. Thomas Sports Center, 701 W. Washington St. in Hartsville.

After this showing, Screen on the Green still has one movie to come this summer. “Planes: Fire and Rescue,” sponsored by the Hartsville Fire Department and Hartsville Police Department,” will close out the season on Aug. 8.
