The City of Hartsville’s Byerly Park Recreation Complex will once again take up its familiar role as a tournament venue beginning this weekend as Dixie Youth Baseball stages its “O” Zone South Carolina State Tournament at the facility for the first time.
The tournament, running from July 12 to 17, will bring hundreds of 11- and 12-year-old boys along with their families and coaches to Hartsville for a week of competition on the diamonds of Byerly Park, found at 700 Russell Road. Games will begin at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. starting Saturday, July 12. While teams from across South Carolina are playing, the City of Hartsville website will be posting bracket updates on the City website.
The baseball and softball facilities at Byerly Park frequently provide a venue for high-level competition play. Dixie Youth Ponytails Softball staged its 2012 World Series at the park and will be doing so again in 2015.
