The City of Hartsville is hosting an art competition open to all local 5th grade students. The contest is taking place in honor of South Carolina’s Arbor Day on Dec. 5, aiming to increase awareness of the vital role that trees play in our environment and City. The contest will select a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners, who will be recognized by Hartsville City Council in December. The 1st place winner will have their work displayed in City Hall and will have a tree planted in their honor.
The deadline for submission is Nov. 25. Submissions should be dropped off or mailed to City of Hartsville Environmental Services, 500 Poole St., Hartsville, SC 29550 Attn: Arbor Day Contest.
