City of Hartsville and Hartsville Police Department Address Community Concerns on Recent Incidents

Hartsville, SC: The City of Hartsville and the Hartsville Police Department are aware of the concerns expressed by citizens regarding several recent incidents within and outside city limits. In response, Chief Snellgrove and the Hartsville Police Department remain steadfast in their commitment to pursue and prosecute those responsible for criminal activity.

“In collaboration with local, state, and federal agencies, we have mobilized our investigators and Crime Reduction Unit to focus on key areas of concern. Our goal is to conduct high-profile enforcement operations to prevent future incidents and apprehend individuals who pose a threat to our community,” said Chief Snellgrove.

The Crime Reduction Unit was established to enhance community engagement and address specific issues affecting public safety. The Hartsville Police Department operates with a “Zero Tolerance” policy toward violent crime in Hartsville and surrounding areas. “The Crime Reduction Unit is just one of many resources we employ to combat crime, and we will continue to use all available tools to protect our community,” Chief Snellgrove added.

Hartsville Mayor Casey Hancock also expressed his gratitude to law enforcement for their dedication, stating, “We are incredibly thankful to all law enforcement officers in our city and neighboring communities who risk their lives to protect us. Our hearts go out to those who have been injured recently.”
