The City of Hartsville’s Screen on the Green free movie series will continue its 2016 season on Saturday, June 25 with a showing of the animated adventure movie, “Descendants”, sponsored by The Markette. The movie showing will take place in Burry Park, 131 Cargill Way, at dusk, 8:36 p.m. or later.
“Descendants” is a 2015 animated action-adventure film in which the main character, Ben, is the son of King “Beast” and Queen Belle in present day Auradon. He offers the trouble making children of past Disney villains, Cruella De Vil (Carlos), Maleficent (Mal), the Evil Queen (Evie) and Jafar (Jay) a chance for redemption. They are to return from exile on the remote Isle of the Lost and attend prep school in the kingdom with the descendants of Disney’s heroes’ kids. The movie is rated TV-G for general audiences, all ages admitted, and runs approximately 1 hour and 52 minutes.
Moviegoers are welcome to bring chairs and blankets to Burry Park. In the event of rain, the showing will move to Byerly Park’s Coach T.B. Thomas Sports Center, 701 W. Washington St. in Hartsville.
The series will continue every other Saturday until early August. The remaining dates are:

August 13 – “Zootopia,” sponsored by the Hartsville Fire Police Department and Fire Department
