The family of former Hartsville Firefighter John F. Auten in conjunction with the Hartsville Fire Department will be hosting a Butt Bog Fundraiser to benefit the Hartsville Fire Department on March 1, 2019. John Auten was a member of the Hartsville Fire Department for 33 years and so dearly believed in the brotherhood of his fellow firefighters. This annual fundraiser provides funds for the development of the training grounds for the Hartsville Fire Department. “John Auten was a valuable member of our department for so many years. He put his heart and soul into helping those that he served and made a positive impact on the lives of so many people in the fire service. I know he would be delighted to know that he is still able to give back to this department through this fundraiser as we generate funds to make great improvements to better train our firefighters for hazardous situations.” commented Chief Jeff Burr.
This fundraiser will be held at the Hartsville Fire Department on March 1, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. To order plates, please contact the Hartsville Fire Department at 843.383.3000 or see a member of the Hartsville Fire Department or John Auten’s family. Orders of 10 plates or more may be delivered. The plates are $8 and include a generous portion of butt bog prepared by Oliver Segars, green beans, pickles, and a roll.
