City of Hartsville Recognizes Employees for Years of Service

On Wednesday, January 16, 2019, the City of Hartsville recognized employees that hit milestone years with the City. Seventeen employees were acknowledged for a total of 270 years of service to the City of Hartsville. Of those 270 years, 105 were from only three very dedicated employees: Marlene Johnson (30 years), Marguerite Miles (35 years), and Rilla Thomas (40 years). Baby Crawl Competition Benefiting Darlington County First Steps

The City of Hartsville Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a Baby Crawl Competition at TB Thomas Sports Center, 701 West Washington Street, on February 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. This competition will benefit Darlington County First Steps to fill their immediate need of diapers for families. Butler Heritage Foundation Submits Brownfields Cleanup Grant Application

The Butler Heritage Foundation is submitting a Brownfields Cleanup Grant Application to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to conduct cleanup activities at the former Butler High School located at 1103 South 6th Street, Hartsville, Darlington County, South Carolina. Brownfields are real property where the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse of which may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant. Hartsville Police Department Holiday Sober or Slammer Campaign

The Hartsville Police Department will be participating in the 2018/2019 Holiday Sober or Slammer Campaign that runs from December 14th until January 1st. In coordination with this campaign, Hartsville Police Department officers will increase enforcement efforts throughout the city, including public safety checkpoints.
