Hartsville, SC: The City of Hartsville, based on the recommendation of its attorney, has sought assistance of the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) to review the circumstances surrounding the dismissal of three firefighters, including Chief Burr and Assistant Chief Bell.

Out of an abundance of caution, as Hurricane Helene approaches, the City of Hartsville is making self-serve sandbags available for businesses and residents within the city limits of Hartsville. There is a 10 bag per business or household limit and you must fill bags yourself. South Carolina Department of Transportation to Hold Public Information Meeting for Proposed Intersection Improvements at 14th and Washington Streets.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation will hold a Public Information Meeting for proposed intersections improvements at 14th and Washington Streets.  This proposed project will replace the current T-intersection with a roundabout that will allow for continuous flow of traffic.

Meeting Date/Time: September 19, 2024 from 5:00pm until 7:00 pm

In late July, the City of Hartsville hosted the Boudreaux Group, a firm contracted to assist in creating a new Masterplan for the city with an emphasis on housing, redevelopment, and a comprehensive marketing and retail study.
