City of Hartsville Launches New Resident Engagement System

The City of Hartsville has launched Citibot, America’s first interactive text messaging and customer service solution for civic engagement with government. Citibot is a communication tool for citizens and their governments. Using text messaging, Citibot helps users report a city issue, search a website, send notifications and analyze data. City of Hartsville Hurricane Dorian Updates

City of Hartsville administrative offices will be closed on September 5, 2019 out of precaution for possible damaging winds and rain from Hurricane Dorian. Staff with the City of Hartsville have spent the entire week preparing as best as possible for any effects from the storm.

City of Hartsville Opens Outdoor Basketball Court

The City of Hartsville Parks and Recreation Department has opened an outdoor basketball court on the campus of Byerly Park located at 701 West Washington Street. This court is open daily from Dawn to Dusk and is free to the public. This court was a vision brought forth by the City of Hartsville’s Parks Committee and funded by The Byerly Foundation and the City of Hartsville.

Hartsville Safe Communities Hosts Ice Cream with a Cop

Hartsville Safe Communities, a division of the Hartsville Police Department, will be hosting Ice Cream with a Cop at South Park Apartments, 1301 S. Fifth Street, on July 25, 2019 from 5-6:30 p.m. Members of the community are invited and welcomed to attend this family-friendly event. Operation Southern Shield 2019

The Hartsville Police Department will be participating in Operation Southern Shield beginning today, July 15th. The operation will run through July 20th and focus on the heavier summertime travel period when the fatality and injury crash rates increase significantly in the southeast.  Enforcement will consist of RADAR/LIDAR use and the use of public safety checkpoints.
