The Annual Hartsville Veterans Day Celebration will be held November 11, 2021 at 11 a.m. in Burry Park. This year’s celebration has been a collaborative effort by various organizations in the community and will be a wonderful event to honor area veterans for the sacrifices they have made. The City of Hartsville Announces Treats on the Green Event

 

The City of Hartsville’s Burry Park will be taken over by mummies, bats, princesses, pirates, ghosts, and superheroes walking through the park to find treats on October 23rd from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Businesses and organizations are invited to set up a table to offer treats to the kids that will be in Burry Park for the event at no charge and should sign up at www.mainstreethartsville.org. Hartsville Police Department Labor Day Weekend DUI Enforcement

 

The Hartsville Police Department is participating in the Sober or Slammer! Campaign as the end of the “100 Deadly Days of Summer” approaches. Labor Day weekend is one that typically marks the end of summer holidays and celebrations across the country. Hartsville First Responders Invite Community to National Night Out Event

 

The City of Hartsville’s first responders invite the community to join them in Burry Park, 131 Cargill Way, on August 14, 2021 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for National Night Out. The event will feature free snacks, kid’s activities such as a balloon animals, bubbles, a DJ, and more. Neptune Island Announces Modification to Schedule

Neptune Island Waterpark will be modifying the hours of operation on weekdays for the remainder of the season’s weekday schedule effective Monday, July 26th.  The park will be open Sunday-Friday 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Season pass holders may continue to enter the park fifteen minutes early on Saturdays, Sundays, and Labor Day. Hartsville Police Department Hosts Southern K-9 Conference

The Hartsville Police Department hosted the Southern K-9 Conference in Hartsville, South Carolina on June 21-23, 2021. Hartsville Police Sergeant Kyle Hause, under direction of Chief of Police Jerry Thompson, worked to bring Jay Kerr with Makor K-9 of West Virginia to Hartsville for this conference. The Department has a long-standing relationship with Makor K-9 as three Department Labradors have been trained there.

The mask ordinance passed by City Council in an April 13, 2021 Council meeting will end effective May 13, 2021 based on updated guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). At a Regular City Council Meeting held on April 13, 2021, City of Hartsville City Council voted to extend the temporary ordinance requiring customers to wear face coverings in Hartsville to help combat the spread of COVID-19.
