The City of Hartsville Fire Department has received a grant from FM Global that will be used for the purchase of smoke detectors that will last residents up to 10 years. These smoke detectors will assist in effective and efficient fire prevention. FM Global Manager, Michael Spaziani, presented the grant award to Hartsville Fire Department Chief Jeff Burr and Fire Marshall Bryan Crowley on August 29th at the Hartsville Fire Department.
FM Global is a mutual insurance company, with offices worldwide, that specializes in loss prevention services. FM Global prides themselves on the millions of dollars in grants that they are able to give to fire departments and brigades, as well as to national, state, regional, local, and community organizations. Their funding can be used for a variety of fire prevention, preparedness and control efforts which includes pre-fire planning, fire prevention education/training, and arson prevention and fire investigation.
The City of Hartsville and the Hartsville Fire Department thank Michael Spaziani and FM Global for their support of the continued safety of our residents and community.
