City of Hartsville administrative offices will be closed on September 5, 2019 out of precaution for possible damaging winds and rain from Hurricane Dorian. Staff with the City of Hartsville have spent the entire week preparing as best as possible for any effects from the storm.

The City of Hartsville Public Services Department announced their schedule for yard debris and garbage pickup would be modified earlier in the week. Yard debris should not be placed outside until after the storm has passed. The Thursday route of garbage pickup ran on Wednesday, September 4, 2019. Residents and businesses are encouraged to secure their garbage bins as soon as possible before the high winds approach the area.

Non-emergency needs can be reported to the City of Hartsville’s Emergency Operations Center at 843.917.0585. Individuals with emergency needs should dial 911.

Should residents experience a power outage, they should call Duke Energy Progress at 800.419.6356, text OUT to 57801, or submit online at www.duke-energy.com/outages.
