The City of Hartsville African American Cemetery Committee will have a Dedication Ceremony of the Historical Marker placed at the Marion Avenue Cemetery at 11 a.m. on January 21, 2019. This dedication will be held in conjunction with the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Events sponsored by the Ministerial Alliance and People to People of Hartsville. This ceremony will feature numerous speakers reflecting on the lives of those buried in the cemetery along with an appreciation for those that have made the cleanup of this cemetery possible. Following the dedication, there will be a march to Jerusalem Baptist Church for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Program. The cemetery is located at 500 Marion Avenue, Hartsville, SC 29550. All are invited and welcome to attend.
