Hartsville shoppers will again get a chance to help local families in need have a better Christmas as the Hartsville Fire Department hosts its annual Boots and Buckets fundraiser beginning on Friday, Nov. 28 at collection sites on Hartsville Crossing. This annual donation effort, which provides Christmas gifts for those families who face difficulty providing gifts for their children, impacted 125 local children in 70 families during the 2013 Christmas season.
On Hartsville Crossing near the Walmart Supercenter, at both the South Fourth Street intersection as well as the South Fifth Street intersection, firefighters will be collecting money donations as well as new and unwrapped toys which are suitable for children 10 years old and younger. Collections will begin at 8 a.m. on Nov. 28. Monetary donations may also be mailed to the Hartsville Fire Department, c/o Larry Bess, 111 S. Seventh St., Hartsville, SC 29550. Donations of money and toys may also be brought by the Fire Department up through Dec. 20.
