Tropical Storm Debby City Closures and Storm Response

Hartsville, SC: Tropical Storm Debby is forecasted to affect the Hartsville and Pee Dee Region over the coming days. As a precaution, Hartsville City Administrative Offices will close at 2:00 PM on August 6th, 2024, and will remain closed through Thursday, August 8th, 2024.  Offices are tentatively expected to reopen at 8:30 AM on Friday, August 9th, 2024, but that is subject to change. Emergency personnel from the Police, Fire, Public Works, and Utilities departments will be on standby and ready to respond as conditions allow. They will also be available to assist with post-storm recovery efforts.

Additionally, residents on Wednesday and Thursday sanitation routes, only trash waste will be collected on Wednesday, August 7th. Residents with regular Thursday collections should place their green roll carts by the curb on Wednesday before 7:00 AM. Due to limited availability at the transfer station and recycling center, recycling will not be collected for these routes. Yard waste collection will be conducted as time and storm conditions permit. Thank you for your cooperation with this adjusted sanitation schedule.

The city would like to provide residents and visitors with phone numbers for NON-EMERGENCY EVENTS such as water or sewer disruptions, downed trees, flooded or blocked streets, and other public safety concerns.
